Key Features:

6 Inputs on a High-Resolution Display

The WT1800R offers simultaneous measurements on up to six inputs at 2 MS/s (16 bits), paired with a high-resolution 8.4-inch XGA display. This split-screen functionality can showcase up to six waveforms or 12 pages of measurement parameters, making it ideal for efficiency testing in applications such as inverter-driven motors, renewable energy systems, and electric vehicles. Measurements can also be displayed in vector format or as trends over time.

Guaranteed Accuracy Across Wide Ranges

Designed for precision, the WT1800R ensures accurate measurements across voltage, current, and frequency ranges. Its guaranteed basic power accuracy (AC measurement) covers 1% to 110% of the selected range, with excellent performance even during large phase shifts or high frequencies due to minimal low power factor error.

Dual Input Elements for Versatility

The WT1800R accommodates both 5 A and 50 A input elements, enabling engineers to test multiple applications using a single device. This flexibility supports evaluations from standby power to variable operating modes of devices under test.

Flexible Data Updates

Customise measurement intervals with nine selectable update rates ranging from 50 ms to 20 seconds or enable automatic adjustments to match fluctuating input frequencies. This capability is especially useful for motor testing, where input frequencies vary with RPM, and during low-speed operation (below 20 Hz), data updates synchronise with each motor revolution.

Advanced Harmonic Analysis

The WT1800R supports harmonic analysis up to the 500th order for 50/60 Hz fundamentals, even with a 50 ms data update interval. Additional options include:

  • Harmonic Measurement Mode (/G5): Measure fundamental waves, harmonic components, and THD.
  • Dual Harmonic Mode (/G6): Simultaneously measure harmonics on two sources (e.g., inverter inputs/outputs).

Motor Evaluation Functions

Beyond electrical parameters, the WT1800R evaluates motor performance, including torque, rotation speed, motor efficiency, total system efficiency, slip, and synchronous speed. It supports field-oriented control for PMSM motors by calculating dq-axis parameters, enhancing its value for high-efficiency motor control applications.

DC Power Supply for Current Sensors (/PD2 Option)

Integrate AC/DC current sensors for high-current measurements with improved signal-to-noise ratios using the optional built-in DC power supply.

High-Speed Data Capture

Capture real-time measurements of voltage, current, and power with intervals as short as 5 ms. When external synchronisation is active, the update rate adjusts between 1 ms and 100 ms, optimising performance for three-phase devices and DC signals.

Customisable Displays and Internal Storage

Custom screen configurations provide clear parameter visualisation and can be saved in the unit’s 1 GB internal storage. This ensures quick loading and efficient data management for enhanced usability.

Correlate Power Consumption and Waveforms

Integrate power and waveform analysis to identify efficiency loss causes during motor endurance tests. Yokogawa’s IS8000 software facilitates simultaneous display and correlation of power measurements and inverter waveforms, streamlining diagnostics and analysis.

WTViewerEfree Application Software

Connect the WT1800R to a PC using WTViewerEfree to view, control, and download numerical, waveform, trend, and harmonic data. This intuitive platform enhances accessibility and efficiency for data management.

The WT1800R combines advanced measurement capabilities, flexibility, and precision, making it an invaluable tool for engineers tackling complex power and efficiency testing scenarios.
