FLIR High-Speed LWIR Science-Grade Camera FLIR X6980 SLS™

Availability: In Stock / Short Lead Time

The FLIR X6980 SLS is a rapid, highly sensitive longwave IR camera with 640 × 512 pixel resolution, ideal for scientists and engineers. It captures detailed imagery of swift events, enabling precise thermal analysis and identifying points of failure in materials like composites, solar cells, and electronics.

As with the entire range of FLIR X-Series cameras, the X6980 SLS offers advanced recording, triggering, and synchronisation capabilities, ensuring seamless integration for successful acquisitions in the most demanding applications.

Featuring a four-position motorised filter wheel and compatibility with FLIR motorised focus lenses, the X6980 SLS delivers superior recording quality, saves time, and minimises frustration in dynamic acquisition environments. By combining an SLS LWIR detector with the fastest high-speed frame rates, the X6980 SLS facilitates shorter snapshot speeds and wider temperature bands, allowing researchers to capture and halt motion throughout the entire high-speed event, whether in the lab or on the test range.

HIGH SPEED, HIGH SENSITIVITY

  • Obtain crisp thermal images even at high speed
  • Capture full 640 × 512 pixel resolution data at up to 1004 Hz or up to 29,134 Hz in subwindow mode
  • Achieve integration times 10 times shorter than MWIR InSb cameras when imaging ambient temperature scenes
  • Detect temperature differences down to 40 mK over a wider dynamic range compared to other cooled detector types
  • Ensure image clarity by remotely focusing the camera using FLIR motorised lenses

ON-CAMERA RAM/SSD RECORDING

  • Directly record critical thermal data to on-camera memory
  • Save up to 26,000 frames of full-resolution data at 1 kHz to on-camera RAM without dropped frames
  • Record up to 15 minutes of 640 × 512 resolution data at 800 Hz directly to the included 512 GB SSD
  • Remotely playback and transfer recorded data from the SSD over GigE, Camera Link, or CoaXPress®
  • Rapidly remove sensitive data with hot-swappable SSD

SYNCHRONISATION AND TRIGGERING

  • Capture essential imagery by synchronising with external events or instrumentation
  • Initiate on-camera data recordings using an external record trigger or specific IRIG-B time
  • Precisely control image frame generation or synchronise it to other equipment
  • Align image capture times with other data using TSPI-accurate IRIG-B time stamping

MULTIPLE SOFTWARE INTERFACES

  • View, record, analyse, and share thermal data effortlessly
  • Stream thermal data directly to computers running Windows®, MacOS®, or Linux®
  • Make quick critical decisions using FLIR Research Studio’s advanced analysis capabilities
  • Integrate camera functionality and recording in third-party software via the FLIR Science Camera SDK
  • Collaborate with colleagues by enabling local analysis of shared data with FLIR’s free Research Studio Player
