Each waveform now occupies its own slice, ensuring maximum visibility and accuracy across the full ADC range without sacrificing detail. Moreover, the MSO24 boasts a comprehensive suite of standard analysis tools, including waveform and screen-based cursors, 36 automated measurements with statistics and gating, customizable waveform math, and basic FFT analysis. Its spacious display accommodates signals, plots, measurement results tables, bus decode tables, and more, allowing effortless resizing and relocation for tailored viewing.

Triggering

With the MSO24, you have access to an extensive range of advanced triggers, such as runt, logic, pulse width, timeout, rise/fall time, setup and hold, serial packet, and parallel data triggers, empowering you to capture even the most complex and infrequent events with precision.

Mask Testing

Mask testing serves as a valuable method for assessing signal quality by establishing boundaries within the oscilloscope display that the signal must not breach. These boundaries, or masks, can be defined using either preset tolerances based on a reference signal or by manually drawing segments on the screen. The MSO24 offers a suite of comprehensive mask tools, enabling users to specify the duration of the test in terms of waveforms, establish thresholds for identifying violations, track and report statistical data on violations or failures, and configure actions to be taken upon detection of violations, test failure, or completion. These features provide users with precise control and insight into signal integrity, ensuring robust testing and accurate analysis of signal performance.

Serial Protocol Triggering and Analysis (Optional)

The MSO24 equips users with a robust toolkit tailored for navigating the intricacies of popular serial buses prevalent in embedded designs, encompassing I2C, SPI, RS-232/422/485/UART, CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and SENT protocols. This suite of tools, including protocol decode and triggering capabilities, serves as a cornerstone for effectively tracing system activity by monitoring traffic across one or multiple serial buses. Serial protocol triggering enables precise event capture based on packet characteristics such as start signals, specific addresses, data content, identifiers, and error conditions.

Additionally, bus waveforms offer a consolidated view of individual signals within the bus, simplifying the identification of packet boundaries and component details like addresses, data, identifiers, and CRCs. Aligned with other displayed signals, the bus waveform facilitates the measurement of timing relationships across different system components. Complementing these features, the bus decode table presents a structured, time-stamped summary of all decoded packets within an acquisition, providing a comprehensive overview with separate columns for each packet component, ensuring thorough analysis and troubleshooting.

Arbitrary Function Generator (Optional)

The optional 50 MHz arbitrary function generator available with the MSO24 is ideal for replicating sensor signals within a design or introducing noise for conducting margin testing. Integrated with the Aux out signal, the AFG offers versatility in signal manipulation. It features a range of predefined waveforms, from sine and square to noise and exponential, catering to various testing needs. With a generous 128k points of record for loading waveforms captured on the analog input or using Tektronix ArbExpress software for streamlined waveform creation, users have ample flexibility to generate complex signals effortlessly.
